One of the most common gases that needs to be measured in the fertilizer industry is ammonia (NH₃). Ammonia is present throughout the fertilizer production process, in both high and low concentrations. A multichannel LasIR analyzer can be used to detect NH₃ gas leaks from urea towers to ensure the safety of production facility workers, as well as monitor very high concentrations of NH₃ for process control. Thanks to the wide dynamic range of LasIR analyzers, locations with extremely different measuring ranges can be measured simultaneously using the same controller. Ammonia fence-line monitoring at production facility sites is also a typical application of LasIR analyzers in the fertilizer industry.
