HCN Monitoring

Hydrogen Cyanide (HCN) is a colourless gas that may be difficult to detect at the TLV without the appropriate gas monitoring equipment. It is a useful compound employed in electroplating and case hardening of steel and iron. Hydrogen cyanide is also an intermediate in the production of acrylic fibres and plastics. Production of reagents for mineral processing to recover gold, copper, zinc and silver represents approximately 13% of cyanide consumption globally. It is, however, a poisonous gas that must be measured and monitored across its varied applications to ensure the safety of workers who are exposed to it.

We offer the ideal TDLAS technology for HCN monitoring. Our instruments ensure accurate and rapid response to HCN levels. The Unisearch LasIR provides:

  • Reliable, accurate data
  • Rapid response – within seconds if desired
  • Multiple location monitoring for both fire detection and combustion optimization
  • Continuous emissions monitoring
  • Freedom from interferences from other gases which could result in erroneous data
  • Easy maintenance and improved process control
