The CH4 analyzer is a very important instrument that can be used for methane monitoring services. Most industries and offices have employed CH4 monitoring systems to ensure that their working spaces are free of methane gas. Whenever CH is detected, gas suckers are used to collect the gas and direct it to storage tanks. The collected gas can later be used for various industrial and home applications. The importance of methane gas in day-to-day activities can never be undermined. Its scarcity also makes it necessary for the gas to be collected upon detection.

Most CH4 analyzer systems cannot only detect methane gas but also other gases such as CO and CO2. The analyzers are able to give a detailed report about the occurrence of these gases in the atmosphere. However, when Ch4 gas is the only gas to be monitored, CH4-specific types of detectors are used. These features make it a complete package that needs to be plugged in to a power source and the rest of the process left to the machine.

A CH4 analyzer can work under different conditions and still produce the same results. Variations such as temperature and pressure are compensated for by built in systems. The systems are also able to check the intensity of infrared light used and adjust the optic detectors so as to achieve consistent results. Gathered data is stored in the internal memory and can be accessed on the display unit or through external devices such as computers. The data includes parameters such as temperature, pressure, humidity and various concentrations of gases in the atmosphere. Some detectors are able to measure very low concentrations of CH4 and provide accurate results. Others are meant for higher concentrations of CH4 and are meant for biogas plants and anaerobic digesters.
